Compact efficient living for a weekend retreat or urban infill living. As shown this design will easily fit in a city location but would be equally happy in a rural setting with views of the beach or mountains. With two bedrooms and two baths this design would work well for a couple with kids or as a vacation retreat. The main bath serves the basic uses and includes a space for stacking laundry. The master bedroom has a master bath that is modest but comfortable and a walk-in closet. A covered patio extends the master into a potential sleeping porch or just a quiet sheltered reading area. The real excitement is the open vaulted public living spaces that flow out through several sliding doors to the three covered outdoor living areas. Living space is essentially doubled with the wraparound decks. Imagine being able to take advantage of panoramic vistas from these spaces.

At 1552 square feet this design is efficient yet livable.
Deck area is 1235 square feet and patio at master bedroom is 242 square feet as shown.

Designed as a duplex to take advantage of a vibrant urban environment in a growing resort town, each unit lives comfortably with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms and office plus open kitchen, living, dining space that has ample view and daylight windows and easy access to covered and open outdoor living spaces. Designed to fit with the typically craftsman vernacular of the old town, this design is clean and simple and yet has craftsman details and characteristics. Contemporary urban living in a home blended with old world charm and characteristics. Hazel house is situated on a sloped city lot that has panoramic views of the Hood River waterfront and a broad stretch of the Columbia River and White Salmon bluffs and Underwood Mountain.
