The detailing is refined traditional. Porch columns and roof trim is streamlined and clean yet still incorporate elements of colonial cottages built in many regions of the country. Originally conceived to take advantage of an urban setting with alley access the garage could be configured to allow front access for typical suburban developments. Design elements are simple symmetrical gable roofs and window elements assembled in a casual asymmetrical building mass.
Able to blend into a beach community or an urban infill lot, this house has cottage detailing and is sized to be efficient. The symmetrical and formal elevation could easily be oriented towards the street in an urban setting to establish an architectural presence in a neighborhood. This orientation creates a sense of privacy while still allowing neighbor interaction. The second story is set back so that the design might fit in with a neighborhood of single story homes.
This house has the ability to fit into a variety of site configurations. This facade would be appropriate for a suburban lot with the front porch opening to the street. This house would also work well in a rural setting oriented with rear porch or dining windows to take advantage of a view.

Able to blend into a beach community or an urban infill lot, this house has cottage detailing and is sized to be efficient. A compact design with the first floor of 913 square feet and second floor of 510 square feet totals an efficient 1423 square feet of finished living space. With both public and private covered porch areas the living space is enlarged and flows into the outdoors. Kitchen and living and dining spaces are combined and open for casual modern living. The living and dining spaces are defined with window placement and ceiling detailing. A main floor bedroom could easily function as a simple guest room or home office. The garage door is oriented to the side to be less prominent and take advantage of a possible alley access. The second floor is all about efficiency and encompass a mere 510 square feet. The room configuration allows for windows on three sides of each bedroom so they are bright and feel more spacious. Efficient closets and bath with linen storage complete the comfortable but utilitarian room configuration.
